HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY – Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program invites interested applicants to apply for the Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling position.  The primary responsibilities for this online/remote position include teaching courses within the curriculum of the CMHC department.  Preferential consideration will be given to candidates willing to locate in Northeast Indiana.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a strong desire to serve others and a commitment to being a faithful steward of university resources
  • Commitment towards the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice
  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D. in Counselor Education required) from a CACREP accredited program (exceptional ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered)
  • Experience and understanding of Christian higher education
  • Successful experience in teaching at the university level
  • Participate and identify with the counseling profession through sustained memberships in professional counseling organizations.
  • Maintain certifications and/or licenses related to the counseling profession and specialty area(s); candidates should be fully licensed
  • Strong clinical supervision preparation and ability
  • Show evidence of sustained professional development and renewal activities related to counseling; professional service and advocacy in counseling; research and scholarly activity in counseling commensurate with their faculty role. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a full-time faculty member and execute the functions identified in that job classification which includes teaching 24 graduate credit hours over an 11-month contract.
  • Develop courses as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with core faculty towards CACREP accreditation
