Description
Spiritual formation for the Christian involves a lifelong process of transformation into the
likeness of Jesus Christ. The recent focus on defining spiritual formation and operationalizing
processes and outcomes involved has helped clarify and renew recognition of its importance in
the life of the believer. More clearly understanding what it means to be created in the image
and likeness of God may be one way to help facilitate spiritual formation. This session presents
a model of the image of God, consolidates foundational aspects of spiritual formation, and
proposes a framework for strategic application of spiritual disciplines.
