As millions of Americans faced isolation in 2020, e-counseling platforms have increased in popularity, securing their popularity well into the future. This workshop will discuss the various options for e-counseling platforms, the best interests of clients, legal and ethical concerns, HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and general liability protections within the context of serving Christian clients.

Participants will:
• Discuss the positive and negative aspects of using e-counseling platforms for addiction counselors and licensed mental health professionals
• Identify “issue-spot” legal and ethical concerns and helping resources
• Utilize a case study to evaluate whether e-counseling platforms are in the best interests of clients, including Christian clients with particular spiritual needs
