Abstract
In the mental health professions, it is not always encouraged to create a “brand,” sometimes even marketing seems to be some type of ethical dilemma, but what if the mental health professional expanded their practice to include coaching. Coaching has become a huge field with many people being very successful in helping people in a more short-term, future-focused work around a specific area in need of growth. In this workshop, participants will learn about the growing profession of coaching and how it can be added to a mental health practice. The presenter will also explain the reason why a coach cannot shy away from personal branding. It is the participant, as a person, as a brand, who forms the backbone of a coaching business. Studies have shown, that when the coach has a strong, authentic personal brand working day and night, the coach sees their income and impact grow at an exponential rate as they continue to build a solid reputation with their clients.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Describe the differences between a coaching practice and a mental health practice and how a mental health professional can add coaching to their current practice.
- Outline how to build unbreakable trust with coaching clients and potential coaching clients.
- Describe how to quickly expand to a coaching audience and create a coaching client base.
