Summary:
With the ongoing traumatic pressure starting with the pandemic in 2020 and continuing with other human-made and natural disasters, licensed mental health professionals and ministry leaders are increasingly faced with clients who have experienced horrific traumatic grief. Because more than traditional talk therapy is needed to heal traumatic grief, clinicians and pastors serving clients of all ages need experiential resources to help their clients lament, make meaning, and resolve their traumatic grief. The increase of traumatic grief has resulted in an explosion of creative, experiential resources to help with traumatic grief resolution. In this webinar, participants who work with children, teens, and adults will be provided with the latest experiential resources for resolving traumatic grief that includes media resources and new ideas and techniques for grief rituals. Participants will be able to receive and participate in the development of an experiential traumatic grief resource handout for children, adolescents, and adults.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
-
Identify reasons that experiential resources are needed to resolve traumatic grief for a wide range of clients.
-
Examine age-appropriate experiential grief resolution resources developed in the last 5 years.
-
Develop their own creative, experiential grief resolution resources to add to the presenters’ handout that all participants receive.
