Professional Mental Health Coaching Certification Application (PMHC)

This form is intended for individuals seeking credentialing in Professional Mental Health Coaching through the Board of Christian Coaching, a division of the International Board of Christian Care (IBCC). Please complete all required fields accurately to ensure timely review. Eligible applicants must have completed either the 42-hour Mental Health Coach (MHC) or 42-hour Mental Health Coach (YMHC) core trainings and the 24-hour Professional Mental Health Coach (PMHC) course. In addition, applicants must have at least fifty (50) hours of client experience.       I Have Completed 50 Field Experience Hours as a Mental Health Coach(Required)
      This credential requires 50 hours of approved field experience in Christian mental health coaching, completed in collaboration with a licensed mental health professional to ensure client safety and appropriate referrals. This question serves as an attestation that you have met the minimum required field experience hours for your credential. Gaining practical experience under professional collaboration helps maintain the high standards of safety, competence, and ethical practice expected of credentialed coaches. While we trust your response, please note that we may request additional documentation to verify your field experience if needed.

      I have read the AACC Doctrinal Statement, ethical integrity, legal history, International Christian Coaching Association , and the 2023 AACC Code of Ethics . I affirm that I am in 100% compliance with all requirements and statements of fact outlined in these documents.

      I understand that in order to renew and maintain my BCC credential, I must complete the applicable continuing education (CE) hours every two years and that these hours must incorporate biblical principles and life coaching skills with theory, knowledge and practice. I further acknowledge I have read and understand the BCC Continuing Education Guidelines.

      I understand that any Board of Christian Coaching credential is a voluntary National Credential and does not offer any state or national licenses.

      I attest that I have not been convicted of, nor do I have any pending charges for, any criminal offenses that would compromise my ability to ethically and effectively provide life coaching services.

      I affirm that:

      • I have never been convicted of a felony or any crime involving fraud, violence, sexual misconduct, abuse, or any other offense that would call into question my ability to work with clients in a trustworthy and ethical manner.
      • I do not have any pending legal actions, investigations, or disciplinary proceedings that would impact my ability to serve as a life coach.
      • If I am charged with or convicted of any such offense in the future, I will notify the International Board of Christian Care immediately.
      • I understand that the International Board of Christian Care reserves the right to conduct background checks and that any false or misleading information provided in this attestation may result in the denial or revocation of my life coaching credential.

Any degree listed must represent an earned degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning (not a degree in process or honorary degree), and any state-regulated licenses or professional credentials listed must have already been earned/received. Do not include the BCC credential you are applying for. Academic degrees are listed first (usually only one from any particular discipline), followed by licenses and other certifications.
