Remembering Dr. Doug Rosenau

Dr. Doug Rosenau, a pioneering Christian expert, and leader in healthy sexuality, went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, April 10, 2022.

A man of deep faith, long-time AACC friend, and presenter, Doug cared deeply about God’s Word. He profoundly influenced helping counselors to develop a biblical view on sexuality and sex therapy. Only heaven will record the tremendous impact he has had on his clients, families, students, and the Christian counseling profession.

With his signature bow tie, he was always warm, kind, and focused on helping the Church at large become more caring. Please pray for his wife, Cathy, and their family.

Dr. Tim Clinton, President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, said, “Doug stood with the AACC from the beginning and had a profound impact on my life and the profession; I will be eternally grateful for all he has done.”

Members of the AACC Executive Board shared a few heartfelt words, thoughts, and prayers.

“Doug was a good and trustworthy friend, who in addition to being a faithful servant, was used of God in-person and through his writings to teach countless numbers of men and women practical and biblically-based life skills. He was a brother who practiced and lived out what he taught. His faithfulness and sacrificial love for his family and friends was and will continue to be a lasting legacy. “We have lost a strong advocate for thinking Biblically about the complex area of human sexuality. His counsel, writings, and teaching have helped countless thousands to integrate their sexuality into a healthier view of what it means to be fully human. His joy, his presence, and his influence on Christian counseling will be sorely missed.”- Dr. Ron Hawkins

“Doug added to this world not only his wisdom but also his kindness to all. A life well-lived. He will be missed. May his family find comfort in their grief.” – Dr. Sharon May

Well done, faithful friend. You will be missed until we see you again.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm at The Church of the Apostles in Atlanta, GA. Wearing bow ties in his honor are welcome.
