Summary
Social media ethics is a topic that counselors, psychologists, and other mental health professionals should carefully consider, as social media expands and shows no sign of slowing down. In this workshop, consideration will be given to issues such as self-disclosure, private versus public profiles, online relationships with clients, and more. Participants will walk away with an ethical understanding of the use of social media by licensed mental health professionals.

Participants will:
• Compare and contrast the pros and cons of using social media for professional purposes for a psychologist or licensed mental health professional
• Formulate a basic social media plan for a mental health practice, including the inclusion of this topic in an informed consent
• Summarize the ethics of the use of social media
