Description

Counseling work is accomplished through the use of language. Figures of speech such as
metaphors, similes, and analogies are part of daily conversations and have also been used in
counseling to bring about therapeutic change and healing. This workshop presents a review of
the most current research literature on the use of metaphors, similes, and analogies in
counseling. The workshop will further explore how counselors can use metaphors, similes, and
analogies in multicultural counseling.

Presented by: Elias Moitinho, Ph.D. & Denise Moitinho, Ph.D.
