All couples long for a great marriage! They want to know how to handle disagreements, heal hurts, and emotionally connect. Yet, when talking through a complicated topic, most couples’ anger issues keep them stuck, hurt, and disconnected. Learn the well-known Safe Haven model steps to help couples understand their argument cycles, discover and tame their dragons, and get to the heart of what they really want to be understood, all the while staying connected.

Learning Objectives
Participants will:
• Define attachment theory and the building blocks of the unique bond that connects a couple in a safe haven marriage
• Identify a couple’s negative argument cycle, discover the dragons that fuel it, and the reactions that keep a couple stuck and disconnected within therapy for licensed mental health professionals
• Utilize the five steps of a Safe Haven conversation that help couples talk and listen to get to the heart of what they really want to be understood
