Description

Where there are humans, there will be conflict, but mishandled conflict has derailed many
teams. A coach able to stand in the emotional fray and guide a team through the principles and
steps of healthy conflict is a rare but necessary commodity in our society today. Jesus says in
the Sermon on the Mount, ???Let me tell you why you are here. You?۪re here to be salt-seasoning
that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste
godliness? You?۪ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. Here?۪s another way to
put it: You?۪re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world?۝ (Matthew 5:13-14a,
MSG). There are many scriptures on how to handle conflict and there may be no better place
for Christian coaches to ???Rise Up?۝ and bring a Christian perspective than modeling how to have
effective conflict. A team that understands the basic components of conflict and puts in place
policies, procedures, solid ground rules, and fruitful accountability that will harness productive
conflict and limit harmful conflict will be more effective in their mission and calling on this
earth. They will stand out, bringing light to a dark world. In this workshop we?۪ll learn how
coaches can help normalize conflict for the team, gain a better understanding of self and
others, and establish a foundation of trust. We will also discuss key tools used in the process
including utilizing assessments such as Strengths Finder, EQ, and various personality inventories. As leaders turn to coaching to develop a more confident approach to conflict, this
session will equip the coach for success.
